When Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell recently applauded Barack Obama's plans to spend money in Eastern Kentucky on the anniversary of LBJ's "war on poverty" visit to Martin County I cautioned that this should be seen as opening the door for Alison Lundergan Grimes to make a play for votes in that district. Told Jah.
In her first big appearance since rolling out her campaign last July, U.S. Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes introduced an economic policy plan and criticized U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell for not doing enough to help the state – particularly Eastern Kentucky.
“Mitch McConnell doesn’t get it, but we get it and we will hold him accountable,” Grimes told a crowd of more than 500 people at Prestonsburg’s Mountain Arts Center on Thursday.
“More than one in four Kentucky children now lives in poverty. I recognize, and what Mitch McConnell lost sight of a long time ago, is this is a tragedy,” Grimes said.

Oh, and if you think she isn't bold, look who she brought out of the bedroom history books to stand beside her.
Grimes had a lineup of leading Democrats on hand for the release of her jobs plan, including former governors Paul Patton, Martha Layne Collins and Julian Carroll; House Speaker Greg Stumbo and several other members of the legislature; state Auditor Adam Edelen and state Treasurer Todd Hollenbach; and local officials.

Getting cozy with Barack Obama and Paul Patton could ruin a woman's reputation.
Just wait until her daddy's buddy, Bill Clinton, starts mentoring her.
