Do you want evidence that the race for the White House in 2016 is moving closely to full throttle? Take a look at this as reported at HotAir:
Alternate headline: “GOP primary campaign officially under way.” New Jersey got $60 billion of federal funds for Sandy relief, $25 million of which went to a “Stronger than the Storm” tourism campaign that showcased a certain gubernatorial candidate and his family. Here’s Rand Paul celebrating that candidate’s victory last night by basically accusing him of corruption. Not the first time he’s smacked Christie over Sandy funding, either: That’s what prompted the “king of bacon” comment back in July when the two of them first started throwing punches at each other. The outline of his strategy against Christie in 2016 is already fairly clear. He’s going to knock him not only as a big spender who cares more about buying off constituents with federal money than he does about shrinking government but as someone who’s ethically dubious across the board.
Some are saying that Christie is the choice of the establishment. What establishment? Who in the GOP walks arm in arm with Barack Obama? You might criticize some republicans for not being as dogmatic as their TEA party colleagues, but other than bitter old John McCain or Wimpy Graham what other establishment republican would pick a New Jersey thug-talking fat-Louie as the party's mascot?
Tough talking, sure, but so was Tony Soprano.
It is a little hard to understand Chris Christie. Maybe people like him because he is very emotional, and that grabs headlines. He's either talking tough about a reporter, talking about hugging people or criticizing all the other politicians you can't rely on - except him. Either way, it's all very emotional. This gets you far on MSNBC, where liberals seem to only talk about how conservatism is dead. But not sure about CC leading the next Republican coalition.
