What did the men in the headline above all have in common? They commanded over a loyalty that transcended the law. You might ask how this applies to President Obama, well here's how:
Yesterday, Michigan Ingham Country Circuit Court Judge Rosemarie Aquilina ruled that Detroit’s bankruptcy filing must be withdrawn because it is in her opinion unconstitutional (in Michigan, “reality is unconstitutional”).
Before issuing her ruling, Aquilina said this:
“It’s cheating, sir, and it’s cheating good people who work,” the judge told assistant state Attorney General Brian Devlin. “It’s also not honoring the (United States) president, who took (Detroit’s auto companies) out of bankruptcy.”
The state court’s equivalent of Chris Matthews also remarked that she’d make sure President Obama received a copy of her order and that “I know he’s watching this.” So much for the separation of powers — take that, Montesquieu. [Michelle Malkin]
