Tibet's spiritual leader the Dalai Lama will visit Louisville Sunday and the Courier is reporting that very high security will accompany his appearance at the Yum Center.
The Dalai Lama says that his religion is simple, it is "kindness".
He preaches compassion and kindness from a Tibetan Buddhist school of thought known as the 'Gelug', founded by religious leader and philosopher Je Tsongkhapa in the 15th century. His school of thought emerged as the dominant one in Tibet after a period of violence between competing sects of Tibetan Buddhists.
His philosophy teaches the path to enlightenment as taught by Buddah who was a sage of the ancient Shakya republic which was an ancient kingdom on the sub-Indian continent during the first century BC.
The man known as the Dalai Lama is actually the 14th Dalai Lama. His name at the time of his birth in 1935 was Lhamo Dondrub, his religious name is Tenzin Gyatsois. He is believed to be one of the most famous men in the world.
