Remember when Eric Deters called for armed revolution? Well another radio shock jock has called for armed revolution.
A monthly newsletter published by the Greene County Republican Committee in Virginia is raising eyebrows for including a column in its March edition that calls for an "armed revolution" if President Barack Obama is elected to a second term in November.
According to the newsletter, [editor Ponch] McPhee also hosts a public radio show that airs every Saturday morning at 5:30 a.m on Charlottesville's WTJU. [Huff Post]
Don't think for a minute that these two are the only ones out there who think like this. I have been on the campaign trail now for several months. I have heard a level of fear and frustration that is at near fever pitch. And what is worse, I've heard more than one candidate around the country feeding into that fear and frustration with campaign rhetoric.
No, I've not heard the call for arms yet on the campaign trail, but anger is being mobilized, fear is driving people to become involved and frustration is being milked for votes. How?
With Con Man tactics, that's how.
Firs a candidate will examine the political winds to see which way the flames are moving. Then the candidate will tell you things that you already believe to be true, thus developing a connection with you and an unjustified level of trust. Why unjustified? Because it's entire credibility is premised upon your perception that the person must be smart because he has come to the same conclusions as you have, when all he is doing is researching your feelings and telling you what you already know.
Then the candidate will make a number of assertions which play upon your pre-dispostion to believe him because he has already told you what you know, therefore whatever else he tells you must also be true. But there is no logic in that approach. It is an old trick, and a good one to snag the unsuspecting.
Then the candidate will ask you to do something, such as join him in his cause. Of course he has no cause except to become elected and to play tricks with your mind in order to get your vote.
Why is this dangerous? Because a growing number of highly motivated people among registered voters seems to include the most frustrated members of society and they are being mobilized to join what is clearly being called a revolution.
Will it result in armed conflict? I pray to God that it won't. But that is precisely what the real enemy of liberty wants, social upheaval, trouble in the streets, racial tension and economic collapse. Only then can the less vocal among us be persuaded that government must bring the rebellion under control, thus leading to a further reduction in civil liberties, more government influence in our daily lives and fewer opportunities for meaningful change through the political system.
Now where have you heard this before? Right here, repeatedly, for over three years.. Thank you for your support.
Armed Revolution? Killing those that disagre with you? you are not patriots, you are fucking idiots......
