How Dare You?

So you still think that we live in the land of the free?  Then maybe you ought to read this.  And as you do, ask yourself "Am I convinced that this guy deserved this treatment?"  Because if history repeats itself, government starts its war for control by picking off the ones it is easiest to motivate public enmity towards.

A Kansas board that denied a licensed doctor of osteopathic medicine a license was primarily concerned about the man’s political views.

Terrence Lee Lakin rose to the ranks of lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army. He served on the front lines in Afghanistan and the war zone in Bosnia as well as a medical mission to Honduras. He saved lives around the world and received a Bronze Star for his service.

But a dispute over whether President Barack Obama was born in the United States led to Lakin being forced from the military and apparently led to the Kansas board in October denying him a medical license to practice in the Sunflower State.

Nearly two years ago, the then lieutenant colonel asked for proof that Obama was born in the United States. When he didn’t get it, Lakin announced via a video posted on www.safeguardourconstitution.com, “I will disobey my orders to deploy because I believe all servicemen and women and the American people deserve the truth about President Obama, the office of the presidency and the commander in chief.”

In December of that year, he went through a court martial for missing movement and failing to obey a lawful order – both violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

The dishonorable discharge had no bearing on Lakin’s license to practice medicine in Maryland or Colorado. But the Kansas board ruled Lakin’s refusal to deploy to Afghanistan “…potentially jeopardized the health, safety and welfare of the military troops for with applicant was employed to provide medical care.” [kctv5.com]

Barack Obama has released his first campaign ad.  In it he claims that the facts regarding the Solyndra scandal are being falsely reported.  He also takes credit for creating 2.7 million jobs in the clean energy industry.  Why such a softball ad?  To get people talking about him in positive terms.  And it will work.

 

How Do You Spell Corruption?

This from Investors Business Daily:

SolyndraGate was no isolated case of corrupt government misspending. The U.S. Navy was just forced to buy 450,000 gallons of biofuels from an Obama-connected firm at an outrageous $16 per gallon.

A look at the lucky seller of this environmentalist version of the proverbial $600 Pentagon toilet seat indicates that the move is not just wasteful, but ethically suspect.

As J.E. Dyer noted over the weekend on the Hot Air Green Room, "a member of Obama's presidential transition team, T. J. Glauthier, is a 'strategic advisor' at Solazyme, the California company that is selling a portion of the biofuel to the Navy.  Glauthier worked — shock, shock — on the energy-sector portion of the 2009 stimulus bill."

Lefties Don't Like Conservative GOP Field

In an effort to credibly disqualify Newt Gingrich from consideration as the GOP nominee, avowed liberal Jonathan Capehart guts the entire field, except of course Jon Huntsman who favors most of the liberal agenda.  Here's how he says Gingrich has disqualified himself from serious consideration:

Gingrich disqualified himself in September 2010 when he splashed around in the pool occupied by folks like Dinesh D’Souza who believe the president hates America and occupies his office illegitimately.

“What if [Obama] is so outside our comprehension, that only if you understand Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior, can you begin to piece together [his actions]?” Gingrich asks. “That is the most accurate, predictive model for his behavior.”

“This is a person who is fundamentally out of touch with how the world works, who happened to have played a wonderful con, as a result of which he is now president,” Gingrich tells us. [Washington Post]

What Mr. Caperton fails to appreciate is the credible case Dinesh D'Souza makes in his book, Roots of Obama's Rage.

Might Obama really have a very different view of what America should be?  His record says yes.

Pssst....Here's Obama's Strategy To Win In 2012

Hold on to your seats.  The president has designed a clearly elitist-racist strategy for his 2012 campaign.

[P]reparations by Democratic operatives for the 2012 election make it clear for the first time that the party will explicitly abandon the white working class.  All pretence of trying to win a majority of the white working class has been effectively jettisoned in favor of cementing a center-left coalition made up, on the one hand, of voters who have gotten ahead on the basis of educational attainment — professors, artists, designers, editors, human resources managers, lawyers, librarians, social workers, teachers and therapists — and a second, substantial constituency of lower-income voters who are disproportionately African-American and Hispanic. How many times over the next few months in the 24 hour news cycle will you hear about this?  Probably very few by comparison to negative stories about conservative candidates.

Obama White House: Hostile Workplace For Women

With all the press coverage regarding Herman Cain and the accusations regarding his treatment of women, I thought it might be a good time to review the record of Barack Obama.

This from the Washington Post:

Friction about the roles of women in the Obama White House grew so intense during the first two years of the president’s tenure that he was forced to take steps to reassure senior women on his staff that he valued their presence and their input.

The women’s-inclusion issue in the Obama White House is featured prominently in a controversial new book to be released Tuesday, “Confidence Men: Wall Street, Washington and the Education of a President,” by journalist Ron Suskind.

One of the most striking quotes in the book came from former White House communications director Anita Dunn , who was quoted as saying that, “this place would be in court for a hostile workplace. . . . Because it actually fit all of the classic legal requirements for a genuinely hostile workplace to women.”

Dunn says she was quoted out of context and told The Post on Friday that she told Suskind “point blank” that the White House was not a hostile work environment.

On Monday, Suskind allowed a Post reporter to review a recorded excerpt of the original interview, which took place over the telephone in April. In that conversation, Dunn is heard telling Suskind about a conversation she had with Jarrett.

“I remember once I told Valerie that, I said if it weren’t for the president, this place would be in court for a hostile workplace,” Dunn is heard telling Suskind. “Because it actually fit all of the classic legal requirements for a genuinely hostile workplace to women.”
