The head of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chairman Steve Israel has vowed to put the resources available to his group directly in play to combat the TEA party in next year's house races. And he says, the president can be expected to help raise the money and support needed to assist in this effort.
While 2012 was a referendum on President Barack Obama and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, Israel said, “2014 will be a referendum on tea party extremism. That’s the deal. That’s the campaign.” [POLITICO]
And just in case anybody hasn't been paying attention, next year will be a very big year for elections in Kentucky. Not only will the ballot have Mitch McConnell's race at the top, but every Congressional candidate will be up for election, all county offices will be up for election, all state house offices will be up for election, half of the state senate seats will be up for election and every judge of every court except three Supreme Court seats will be on the ballot.
Stay tuned. It might seem like a long way off now, but it will be here before you know it.
