The Courier Journal today reported that Rand Paul returned $600,000 (about 17%) of his Senate expense budget to the U.S. Treasury, and that Mitch McConnell returned approximately $1 million. The article goes on to say that McConnell has returned money each year.
They are not alone. Others are practicing fiscal sanity and we applaud our Kentucky Senators for doing the same.
How about Rand accounts for the $3.5-4 million he spent? Where'd it go? What was the return on that investment? Rand LaRouche has been in office since 1/2011 and he's had exactly zero accomplishment. As for Mitch - wow. That show is going to be hilarious in 2014.
