In July 2008 then candidate Barack Obama said that the increase in the national debt from $5 trillion to $9 trillion in two terms of George W. Bush was "irresponsible" and "unpatriotic". This week he called for raising the debt limit despite having increased the national debt during his ONE term by more than George W. Bush did in two terms.
Let's see, $16 trillion minus $9 trillion is......$7 trillion.
Who's unpatriotic now Mr. President?

Bush's term didn't end in 2008. When Bush came into office the debt was $5.7 trillion with a $200 billion surplus for fy 2001. When he left office on 1/20/2009 there was a $10.8 trillion debt with a CBO projected $1.2 trillion fy 2009 deficit. Bush gets credit for the jump in debt through 9/30/2009. Oh, and let us not forget the 6500 Dow in January 2009; the 2/2009 UE rate of 8.3 and so much more.
