Chris Christie, beach walking friend of Barack Obama, is getting in John Boehner's face over the fact that the outgoing Congress did not take up the Hurricane Sandy Relief bill. Well, Chris, here is why.
The speaker knew that there was a lot of pork in the bill and he knew that a lot of the conservatives in his caucus would have a hard time voting for the bill as a whole because of that pork so he divided it into two proposals. His plan was to take up each separately.
What would you rather have happen Chris, a mutiny by conservatives over the pork and thus no bill, or a more mature understanding of the process working in your favor to get you the relief but allowing the conservatives to vote against the pork.
It's obvious from your waistline that you have impulse control problems, but don't be a fat head when it comes to railing against republicans. You didn't help in the November elections and you aren't helping hold the party together by your criticism of the speaker of the House.
What he might just do is let the bill as a whole come up for a vote and then throw up his hands and say, "well, you got what you wanted, a vote on the bill" as it goes down in flames.
Don't accuse republicans of lacking compassion, or Boehner of lacking leadership, when what is really at work here is you lacking patience and tact. Just push away from that table CC. The pork isn't good for you.
