I do not subscribe to any conspiracy theories but lately I've been hearing enough from those who do to come up with one of my own. I am concerned that all of the talk about "gun control" coupled with talk of other threats from our own government is about to make somebody do something really, really stupid.
I hear about how Diane Feinstein back in 1999 said that if she could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate that she would have taken every citizen's gun away, every single one. I hear about the "black helicopter" military exercise over Miami the last few days which has many people suspect that martial law is coming.
Of course there have been reports about FEMA camps and the army advertising jobs for "Internment Specialists" which has people saying that the government is going to turn on the people.
Government documents have surfaced with plans for civilian internment clearly spelled out and Americans are reportedly building private armories at a record pace.
Doomsday preppers are building underground living facilities, hoarding food, water and ammunition.
And all the while one group after another is talking about taking to the streets in civil war.
So what is really going on? What might this all be about?
My conspiracy theory is not new. I put it out there years ago, before all of this kind of talk got so out of control.
My conspiracy theory is that our legislators, our judges and our executive branch members will find it harder and harder to stand on principle if another tragedy of some sort with guns takes place. They will have to fight the relentless call from the media to "DO SOMETHING!"
Even those that we have trusted to this point will be under incredible pressure if one or more of these conspiracy nuts does something big and bad. So the progressives are very content to let all of this stuff fester because they know that if the people are under enough pressure, somebody is going to explode.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, watch out for those who are stirring things up. Their motive might not be what it seems.
You might be right, but we must never let down our guard. Here is what an eyewitness to Hitler's assent reports:
"Next came gun registration. People were getting injured by guns. Hitler said that the real way to catch criminals (we still had a few) was by matching serial numbers on guns. Most citizens were law abiding and dutifully marched to the police station to register their firearms. Not long after-wards, the police said that it was best for everyone to turn in their guns. After World War II, Russian troops occupied Austria. Women were raped, preteen to elderly. The press never wrote about this either. When the Soviets left in 1955, they took everything that they could, dismantling whole factories in the process. They sawed down whole orchards of fruit, and what they couldn’t destroy, they burned. We called it The Burned Earth. Most of the population barricaded themselves in their houses. Women hid in their cellars for 6 weeks as the troops mobilized. Those who couldn’t, paid the price. There is a monument in Vienna today, dedicated to those women who were massacred by the Russians. This is an eye witness account.
It’s true….those of us who sailed past the Statue of Liberty came to a country of unbelievable freedom and opportunity. America Truly is the Greatest Country in the World. Don’t Let Freedom Slip Away.
