It occurred to me after reading a number of things from websites and facebook members from around the nation that the recent efforts to impose gun control had fomented a spreading fear. People were talking about "revolution" and fighting the next civil war. That kind of talk is not good, neither are those kind of thoughts.
Then it struck me. This talk is pure crazy talk. Who would we be fighting? It's not as if British soldiers in their bright red coats are about to march up to our doors and forcibly disarm us. Who do we need to fear?
Those ideas then turned into a plan of action.
I have now launched a new project "I Stand Accountable". By this project I hope to calm fears, restore confidence and at the same time make a very clear statement that no effort to impose executive orders, new federal or state regulations or to pass new laws which infring our right to keep and bear arms will have anyone to enforce them.
We invite every elected official to sign the pledge found at "IStandAccountable.org".
We invite all of our fellow citizens to volunteer to make contact with and request that their elected officials show their true colors, and sign the pledge.
And not a single one of them should have any trouble doing so. After all, they are merely repeating their vows, the promises they made when they took the oath of office in the first place, to defend the Constitution.
Go there NOW. Sign the pledge yourself. Join as a recruiter and get the word out to everybody that you know, particularly your elected officials.
Let's see who really stands with us.
