Anything that is just "for the kids" is fine with folks. There is no need for alarm if the purpose of any government action is just "for the kids". And so when army helicopters and military men in fatigues shooting rifles in a training exercise in Texas were perceived to be doing this just "for the kids" the public moved on since there was nothing to see.
But I find it odd that in the last couple of days there have been reports in Miami and now in Texas of military training with gunfire, no notice to the public and which seems to have taken ordinary citizens by surprise. What I find odd is that these reports only popped up after guns and ammunition sold out in most locations.
I'm not saying that the military is practicing for a civil war, just that what ever they are practicing for they aren't telling the people first. That's a bit disconcerting.
And in addition, what they seem to be practicing is a rapid response in civilian areas.
Maybe somebody should demand some answers from our current and outgoing (fired and retired) military commanders about the need for these exercises.
Don't we have the right to know why they feel the need for such activities in our midst?
