From The Freedom Outpost:
On August 14, 2012 when Martha Lewis heard a loud noise at 3:00am she went to check to see what it was. What she found was someone kicking in her door.
She immediately called the police, but she also grabbed her weapon.
Martha ran to her daughters’ room and told them to get something to protect themselves. When Martha and here daughters were at the top of the stairs they saw the intruder about to climb up the stairs toward them.
“I knew when he stepped on the landing that I would have to shoot him,” Lewis said, “He starts like coming up the stairs and he said, ‘would you shoot me?’ And I said ‘I don’t want to have to but I will.’” The criminal ignored her and Lewis fired her weapon. What would have happened if this mom was not able to defend herself? This story could have had a horribly tragic ending.
Lewis spoke of her fear and uncertainty during the home invasion. “It wasn’t like, oh can I pull the trigger? It was like when should I shoot? When will he be close enough that I know I won’t miss him?” Fortunately for this quick-thinking mom, she didn’t miss. The thug stumbled outside, where he was apprehended by police.
