I've asked this before: Do you know any rich people? Maybe you do, but that would depend on how you define "rich". To people on welfare looking for work, an upper middle class family might appear "rich". To an upper middle class family, a millionaire might be considered "rich". But what I mean is "sovereign rich".
Do you know how much money in gold and dollars the leading families in Saudi Arabia have? How about how much money Qaddafi had when he was finally taken down? We are just now beginning to see that the war against the USA is not merely a war of violence, but a war of finance.
There are groups of individuals in the world who hoard American dollars, gold and other wealth in sums large enough to dramatically impact the entire US economy. And they have been plotting to destroy us in this way for a long, long time.
In fact, the attack on the world trade center was more symbolic than anything else. It was an in your face moment intended to convey the message that the Islamists were going to bring down our economy. And judging by today's circumstances, they are succeeding.
