I read an article posted by David Adams in which he briefly mentions a piece of legislation, pre-filed by Representative Dennis Keene, which could make it a crime to distribute un-solicited literature to anyone's home. Adams says this would criminalize the door to door distribution of campaign materials.
Now giving Dennis the benefit of the doubt, I would think the bill was not specifically intended to prevent campaigns from leaving door hangers and such at anyone's residence, but there is no doubt that the bill could be interpreted to do just that.
It's a good "heads up" and should result in Keene amending his proposal. If not, then his true stripes will become very apparent.
