Mitt Romney is out selling his book. Of course everybody knows that this is just a front for his push to be POTUS in 2012. His appearance on "The View" however has caused a bit of a stir. Romney left some viewers mouths hanging open when he warned against "populism". His concern? An anti-CEO sentiment.
“The populism I’m referring to is, if you will, demonizing certain members of society: going after businesspeople, going after Wall Street, going after people who are highly educated, people who are CEOs,’’ Romney said in an interview. “That kind of ‘All of our problems are due to that group’ is something that is unproductive.’’… [HotAir]
Risky move in an era where the common man is trying to take his country back. But then it should really come as no surprise that the one constituency he is most concerned about would be the one he belongs to, CEO's.
Let's see if Mitch has Mitt back as his guest at the state wide Lincoln dinner like he did in 2008. Might not be as safe a bet in 2012 as it was four years ago. While Romney still scores high among TEA party folks, he is a full 9 points behind Sarah Palin.

While I think there are and will be better candidates than Romney in the field by 2012, I think he has a valid point when it comes to populism. How is the "common man" helped by pulling down the creative class, the job creators, the entrepreneur? These are the people being attacked by much of the current populism. In turn, this often results in over-regulation, job destruction and more by trying to stick it to this group.

I can't stand Romney.
He supports "state" run healthcare. So, I don't think he would have a backbone opposing national healthcare.
He was notorious for raising taxes.... well he called them fees. Still cost the taxpayer more of their money!
I remember in the 2008 Presidential debates there was a question about attacking Iran and he couldn't answer the question. He said he'd have to contact his lawyers.
I can't believe Romney is stupid enough to run again. How much money did it cost him last time? He clearly showed you can't buy the Presidential seat!
I'll take Palin any day over Romney and I don't even really know that much about her. I know enough about Romney to realize he is more of the same -- a big government stooge!@

Sounds like a bogus "Up East" poll with only two contenders to me Marcus.
I dare them to poll the freedom loving gun owning tea partiers in the Mid West and South while including all contenders on the horizen for POTUS.
