Rand Paul was a featured guest at a fundraising event for GOP candidate Jimmy Higdon in Bardstown last night. This photo of him being introduced by Senate Floor leader Robert Stivers, flanked by Senator Dan Seum and Congressman Brett Guthrie says alot.
First, his status as a featured guest shows that he has been taken seriously by the mainstream GOP. Second, it shows that he and at least one other federal candidate, Brett Guthrie, know the importance of keeping a balance of power in Frankfort as the legislature takes up the important duty of re-drawing Congressional Districts and state senate and representative districts following the 2010 census.
And third it raises this question: Where was Trey Grayson in time of GOP need?
While Grayson may be executing well from the McConnell playbook and keeping his powder dry until the very last minute, nevertheless Rand Paul is clearly out and about developing loyalties and friendships, an investment which could pay big dividends come May.

Guthrie is as much a RINO as Grayson. Just last year he voted in support of Ted Kennedy's "GIVE" bill, which when in the House actually included verbage about MANDATORY "volunteer" work. AKA INVOLUNTARY SERVITUDE!!!! Either he's a RINO or he doesn't bother reading before voting. Whichever may be the case, KY is deserving of far better representation.

Mitch must have told him not to go.

To be completely accurate, it's Senator Dan Seum, not Representative Dan Seum.

I linked to your post here. I wish I knew how to do track backs. That would make this easier.
