CQPolitics is reporting that several republican donors, including Kentucky's Mitch McConnell gave money to Arlen Specter, the turncoat republican who has now turned into a democrat, though they haven't asked for it back yet.
McConnell as minority leader knew that Specter had broken ranks and voted in favor of runaway spending by the Obama administration yet he gave him $10,000 just last month. Joined by other GOP lawmakers they together contributed $42,000 to Specter in March alone. Specter says he will give it back if asked.
According to the old saw, politics makes for strange bedfellows. Odd though that McConnell would want to help re-elect a guy who voted in favor of the so called "Stimulus Bill" and not Jim Bunning who voted against it.
Just exactly which side is Mitch on these days?

Mitch is the Senator from K Street anymore. He stands for nothing but ass kissing and power and favors for his favored brood like Hunter Bates. Sad.

Having McConnell's support is like having Specter's support, not sure Jim Bunning would want that.
As Specter learned, McConnell may be more of a liability than a help, money or not.
Why else would Specter run from McConnell's party?

McConnell built his power base on his diplomatic dolling out of pork. He used our tax dollars to build power for himself where he could reward those who could help him and punish everybody else.
His opposition to Bunning is now all the more clear. McConnell supported Specter because Specter is a tax and spender like McConnell. Bunning is not, he is much more of a fiscal conservative than McConnell ever even pretended to be.
When will there be a call to remove McConnell from leadership? He is riding this party into ruin and doesn't seem to give a damn.
