Hack The Vote

Increasing reliance upon the electronic tabulation of votes raises serious questions about ballot security.  Not in some far off land, but right here in America, right here in Kentucky.

According to one study,  researchers found that by outfitting electronic voting machines with a Trojan horse program and dropping it into the pool of media used to start up the voting software, hackers could change vote totals or render the machines useless.

Do I hear a call for paper ballots counted by hand?

The Taliban in Afghanistan have killed another of the Korean hostages.

So, whaddya say, let's just pull all the troops out, let the bad guys take over the world, increase their foothold, build more training camps, raise money, steal the oil, trade it for weapons and then let's open up a dialogue with them and maybe compromise, huh? 

We could agree that fundamental Islam would be a required course in grade school, employers would be required to give employees time for Muslim prayers and all telephone messages would have to be in English, Spanish and Jibberish!

What do you say?

I say find them and bring them to justice, American style.

Here is a suggestion for Special Boone Prosecutor in Ed Moore case

Former Boone County GOP Chairman and candidate for Boone County Clerk, Ed Moore, is facing charges that he embellished his Viet Nam era service by altering a copy of his military papers to make it appear he served in Southeast Asia.

In a similar matter a Federal Court Magistrate in Washington has sentenced a military impostor to probation, the terms of which require him to tend the graves of REAL veterans.

Just a suggestion, but a similar disposition of his case might be worthy of consideration.

So Senator McConnell plans to help Governor Fletcher? Hmmmmm....

Senator Mitch McConnell is a smart political strategist.  His most effective strategy?  Playing it safe.

While many other politicos in both parties have willingly run onto the state battlefield at the first call, Senator Mitch McConnell conducts himself a little differently, behaving as a general, sitting safely on top of his horse far behind the front lines.

No doubt his vantage point gives him the ability to see the war play out in front of him and to assist by directing resources and troops, but it also gives him the advantage of escaping unscathed if things don't go well.

So far he has kept his distance from the Governor's race.  But recently he has announced his intention to help.

Well if our senior Senator really wants to help the Governor all he has to do is get on the phone and raise some of the millions of dollars we all know that he can amass in the blink of an eye.

Let's see how this goes. 

Safe or not, I am sure Senator McConnell would rather run for re-election next year with a Republican Governor talking nicely about him, rather than having his former opponent sitting safely in the Governor's mansion.

You see a democrat governor would be like an opposing general sitting on his horse.  He could either steer the battle from afar, or run against MM again with nothing to lose.

Kentucky Democrat Leaders: Arrogant, Obstructionist, Partisan, Illegal, Threatening

Like it or not, the Constitution gives the Governor the exclusive right to call the General Assembly into special session and to set the agenda.  But Jody Richards doesn't care about the law, his oath or the people of Kentucky.

In an article written by Pat Crowley in today's Enquirer, Jody Richards, rejected multiple times by his own party as candidate for governor, made it very clear that he has no intention of upholding his oath of office.

Discussing the possibility that Governor Fletcher will call a special session and may put the "domestic partner" issue on the call, along with the Peabody Coal tax incentive package, Richards arrogance spilled over into a direct threat to organize his fellow democrats to directly violate the law.

"If he puts anything else on the call ..., we will not convene," Richards said. "If he puts something on after we get here, we will adjourn immediately, and he needs not take that as an idle threat."

There is precedent for the action Richards is threatening. A dangerous precedent.

Liberal Agenda: Block All Judges

Matt Barber, writing for Townhall.com, has made the case that Senators Harry Reid and Patrick Leahy are taking their marching orders from the ACLU, MoveOn.org, the Human Rights Campaign and other liberal groups to block every single judicial nominee.

His article points out how these groups have even gone so far in their efforts to block Circuit Court appointments as to smear the good name of a war hero and a judge which they had unanimously approved for the district bench.

The shameless partisanship of these people should make every American sick.

Lexington Herald Leader details social costs of gambling; Steve BS should be worried

Pathological gambling, suicide, bankruptcy, embezzlement, domestic violence and increased crime were listed among the social costs of expanded gaming on the front page of the Lexington Herald Leader.

Quoting Bill Eadington, director of the Institute for the Study of Gambling and Commercial Gambling at the University of Nevada at Reno, the article goes on to point out that slots at race tracks may not be good for Kentucky's horse racing heritage. "If you create racetrack casinos, you don't really help racing. You create casinos."

And quoting an economics professor at University of Illinois the article reports that expanded gaming in Kentucky will "kill" Churchill Downs and Keeneland.

The bottom line of the article is that there are tremendous costs to gambling, much more than the casino industry will tell you.

When the Lexington Herald Leader questions the advisability of gambling, the central theme to Steve BS's campaign, he should be worried.
